January Kula News!

We have been celebrating the increasing light and new beginnings since Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice, and now the gregorian calendar new year. We will continue celebrating with the oncoming Tibetan New Year, Chinese New Year, and of course each and every day!

2014 had many blessings and good memories at Yoga for the Peaceful! We had 2 successful 200 Hour Teacher Training Programs affiliated with Shiva Rea’s Samudra Global School of Living Yoga, went on our first annual Costa Rica Surf Retreat, (second one coming up this April!), had another rockin’ summer and too many to list amazing world class presenters including Govind Das, Micheline Berry & Joey Lugassy, Jennifer Ellen Mueller, and more!

One of the biggest blessings for the studio has been having Jackie Just take on the position as manager, as well as become one of our lead teachers, juggling both with grace and charm! It has enabled the studio to be lifted up to a new level of organization and professionalism, and has enabled me to work abroad leading teacher trainings and retreats globally and statewide, that has been an important part of my career.

Another miraculous undertaking for me this year has been building my “Eco-Nest”, a natural straw clay home built by master builder and wonderful person, Don Smith of NaturalSmiths Homes. If you want to see the progress on my home please check out my facebook page LOVE. SERVE. BUILD. This is a huge dream of mine, to have a home for myself and my boys and everyone has supported me throughout the process, including the fun days of “straw stomping” to get the walls up! I should be moving in this Spring, and am very excited about the way this grounding new element will have on my life.

We have brought on many new amazing teachers, and continue our policy of “no one will be turned away due to finances” as well as offering passes and community classes bringing prices down to $10 a class in our beautiful Yoga Shala studio space, and have created deep and wonderful bonds with our locals, second home-owners, visitors, and local businesses and non-profits that we support.

Yoga for the Peaceful is open 364 days out of the year and is a great deal of work to offer year round programs, but it has been a huge honor and joy to provide a sacred space for all who walk through our doors. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our studio, and allowing us to continue to serve you!

May 2015 bless you abundantly with love, joy, and prosperity in all its forms!
